CellsCells are tiny structures that make up all living things. They are the smallest part of a living thing that can carry out all of the processes of life like taking in nutrients or getting rid of waste. Cells are too small to see without magnification. Microscopes allow us to examine cells and identify their various parts.
There are two main types of cells, plant cells and animal cells. All cells have tiny structures called organelles that help them complete their tasks. A cell's organelles are like the organs in our body, each one has a different job to help the cell live. Plant and animal cells have many of the same organelles, however plants and animals do different tasks and need different things to thrive, so their cells are also different from each other in several ways. |
