All About Mrs. Barbosa |
Hello all, and welcome to fifth grade! My name is Mrs. Barbosa and I am super excited to work with all of you wonderful Scotties this year as we prepare for middle school. This is my third year teaching here at Argyle Elementary and my fourth year teaching fifth grade. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University in 2016 and hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in Reading. I am also pursuing a Master's degree from University of West Georgia in Early Childhood Education currently.
My husband, Lucas, and I live in Kennesaw, Georgia with our beautiful daughter, Adelyse! When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me hiking, going to the gym, enjoying local concerts, or relaxing by the fire place. I also really enjoy home improvement projects and decorating our home. Currently, I'm working on learning Portuguese, which is my husband's native language. When it comes to my teaching style, I am very laid back! I have found that if students are having fun and enjoy their learning environment, they typically learn more and find the topics interesting. You can usually find me reading in crazy voices, impersonating historical figures, and using exorbitant amounts of humor to get the point across. While its all fun and games, this year is an important year to begin practicing self-organization and responsibility, so those are two life skills that we practice consistently through maintaining our resources, getting our agendas signed nightly, and completing out of school assignments. Fifth grade is truly the most FABULOUS grade in elementary school and I am so excited to share it with YOU! |
